Land as an asset

Land as an asset

Aboriginals control over half of the land area of Australia.
They control the land and other Australians need permission from the Aboriginal group controlling the land to enter it.
Land has the potential to make money for the group controlling it. Hence it is an asset. Welfare is denied other Australians if their assets exceed a certain amount. With Aboriginals controlling over half of Australia and hence controlling a huge asset the obvious question is “How does such an asset affect their welfare payments?”.

Facebook helps

I assume all politicians get subscriptions to all media as part of their job and so do not know what the rest of us have to contend with.
When I saw a snippet of a news item on Facebook and clicked on the link to the story I usually was asked to subscribe to the paper before I could read it. The Guardian was generally the only exception.
I do subscribe to the Border Mail but no others.
This meant papers got new subscribers if people wanted to read their news.
Definitely a case of cutting off......

Fifty years ago the system I was teaching in had one of its periodical changes. Science for weaker students included one unit which the teacher could design. These students had a natural aversion to use of the library, writing essays and talking on specific topics.

What to do?

A Feelgood Image

China is currently in the news with not so good comments. This image is from a card that was given to me by one of the students when I left the school in China a few years ago. It makes me feel really good each time I find it again.
